I review headphones blind to hype, because I've listened to music blind to hype my whole life.

I grew up in Tarnowskie Góry, Poland, equally drawn to Polish Rock Bands of the late 70s and early 80s, opera and Metallica. My canon was whatever reached me: cover CDs glued to Metal Hammer, a drummer friend's cassette of Keeper of the Seven Keys, the Smoke on the Water riff every kid in the neighborhood learned first. Nobody told me what was supposed to be good - so I kept only what created a tingle in the soul. It turns out that's a quality filter you can build a life on.

These days I'm in Maryland USA, running that same filter on gear: IEMs, headphones, DACs - judged by what I hear, not what the price tag or the hype cycle says I should hear. And once a month I flip it around with the Top10: songs that earn their place in headphones, from lifetime favorites, viewer suggested gems to tracks an AI learned my taste well enough to find.
